Bodyscapism™ x Cam Evans Boudoir Photography Featured In Shutter Magazine
You may not understand how much I love Shutter Magazine. Every January Shutter releases the Glamour Edition that features boudoir photography. I remember when I discovered my first issue a couple of years ago. The cover texture of the magazine feels like a fine art print. Shutter Magazine doesn’t look or indeed feel like a typical magazine. The magazine covers everything from the business of photography to the techniques of the artists to the delight of retail and commercial clients. I’ve bought this magazine all over Dallas-Fort Worth just to get the latest issue. I finally became a subscriber to reduce my fuel bill.
It’s with that prelude that I’m tremendously honored and humbled to be published in a magazine that I have such deep admiration and affection. I’ve had the distinct pleasure to meet and learn from Shutter Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Sal Cincotta, over the past year. Sal is a highly successful, serial entrepreneur and professional photographer. He has a unique knack for revealing the dramatic story in the most mundane settings that other photographers overlooked and missed the details. Sal & Co found my photography work worthy of publication. It’s a feeling that’s both transformative and exhilarating at once.
The Story Behind The Shutter Magazine Feature
Destination boudoir photography is an exceptional upgrade feature of Bodyscapism™. Destination shoots are beautiful options for the bridal boudoir client. It’s also a wonderful experience for the woman who wants something out of the ordinary. My atelier can create almost any look or scene imaginable. However, a new and exotic location can spurn creative ideas that would have otherwise been impossible. This featured image is from one of my Destination Bodyscapism™ shoots.
I have a vision of what I want to create and produce for each woman that desires to Experience Bodyscapism™. It’s all bespoke and inspired by my client’s taste. This shoot was no exception. The hotel suite provided a lot of beautiful options for boudoir photography. I decided to take advantage of the incredible lighting that we had available.
The natural lighting is one of the beautiful aspects of this image. The harsh afternoon sun softened by the sheer window curtains. This produced both the soft contrast and warm glow that I wanted to create in this shot. The lower camera angle produces an image that makes my subject look statuesque and divine. The black high heels are the perfect accessories to the black chiffon robe draped over her bare butt.
What Next For Bodyscapism™ x Cam Evans
As an artist, being published in print by a third-party is a significant professional acknowledgment and provides bona fides of my capabilities. I believe in self-publishing. However, it doesn’t hold the same gravitas of being affirmed by your industry peers. This was an important milestone for my brand and my Bodyscapism mission. I’m thrilled to share this accomplishment with you.
Going forward, I have a lot of work planned for the upcoming 2019 year. My team will be embarking on more modern intimate portraiture and pushing the boundaries of boudoir photography. It’s going to be sexy and a lot of fun. As we get more things published and featured in galleries, I’ll be sure to share them and the backstory with you.
